Two Seasons

They say that in Cleveland there are two seasons - winter (snow) and road construction:) I believe it. After sitting in my car for almost two hours trying to get home from what is usually a 30-45 minute ride, I finally got home. Some poor soul went through one of the massive baricades on 90 West and caused a 5 car pile up. The interstate was closed for close to 3 hours.

Take care - will post soon (Good Lord willing, and the creek don't rise!)

This is just WRONG!

Tuesday, it was 80 degrees, almost balmy. Today they are talking about 5 to 7 inches of snow in our area. Is this global warming? I shouldn't complain because I WAS complaining Tuesday when they did not turn any air conditioning on at the school. I asked when they do turn it on and was told, Oh - about May 28. Great! I joke that in the South, we do know how to run our air conditioners:)

Happy Birthday!`

My son is 25 today. It's hard to believe that 25 years ago I was 23 years old and helping (I hope) to bring a new life. Life is funny. It twist and turns and comes out not what you thought it might be. Some good, some not so good. In retrospect, others have it bad and we don't appreciate what is good in our lives. You don't think when you're in your twenties that you will be without some of the important people in your life. Please, take time to appreciate those people and treasure your time with them. As I wish my son Happy Birthday, I also bid a farewell to my Mom who left us not soon after his 21st birthday. I hate to be so maudlin at the same time but it can come without contact with those you love, living or dead. Rest well in whatever you do. With love.

A Coke by any Other Name....

The great coke, pop, and soda debate is on.... See this site http://www.popvssoda.com/ and see what everyone prefers to call this delicious beverage.  We in the southeast usually say, "What kind of Coke do you want?"  For those of you who don't know, our response is, "Do you have Sprite (7-up, Dr. Pepper, Pepsi, Diet Coke, etc.....)  I found myself saying, "I need a pop" the other day.  Oh my - I've been in the north too long I think:)

Is Spring really so far away?

My son, Nick, took this picture yesterday.  It's what it really still looks like here in good ole' Avon Lake, Ohio.  I can't wait for the warmer temperatures I enjoyed in Bama.  Like Edna St. Vincent Millary said, "April comes like an idiot, babbling and strewing flowers."  I can't wait for some idiocy of spring:)

Pond in our Backyard????

No, we didn't move.  This minature pond accumulated in our backyard yesterday after (hopefully) our last snow storm - which - as a matter of fact - put us over the record for snowfalls.  If you look closely, you can see two ducks that thought they found a home.  Today it's all gone.  No more waterview home:)
